Maintain and a Loss

After a few weeks of not being terribly particular about logging my weigh-in, or weighing in at all, I stepped on the scale this past Saturday and had no idea if I had gained or lost.  Turned out I both maintained and lost: based on the last time I actually logged my weigh-in, I maintained, but based on a mid-week weigh-in for a weight loss challenge, I lost a little bit.  I didn’t gain, that’s for sure, and that was a nice change of pace!

Yesterday, my husband, my stepson, and I all had a rare day off on the same day, so we spent the afternoon and evening together.  It was a lot of fun.  When we got home, we were all starving, and I had a new recipe (BBQ chicken) I wanted to try out.  I’m still not certain if it was actually that good, or if we were just so hungry that we would eat anything we could spear with a fork, but there was nothing left on anyone’s plate.

This week I’m aiming for a 2-pound weight loss.  I need to get serious and consistent.  Logging my breakfast, maybe my lunch, then pigging out and just not logging my dinner as if that cancels out the calories has not been working, believe it or not!  I signed up for some fitness classes this week to make sure I get more workouts in.  It’s going to be a good week!

Hello, March!

MarchHello, March!  You’ve kind of sneaked up on me.  We are already starting the third month of this year?  Maybe I should consider getting a start on my New Year resolutions, then.

I’ve set some things in place to motivate me and keep me on my toes this month.  I have joined two challenges on LoseIt, a weight loss challenge and an exercise minutes challenge.  I signed up for a free trial of Leslie Sansone’s Your Daily Walk app, so I have 31 days’ worth of free workout videos, just waiting for me to take them for a spin.  I have a brand new, blank, shiny workout log posted on the fridge, and a stash of colored star stickers for the calendar, for each day that I work out.

I’m excited to see what I can accomplish this month.  My husband keeps telling me he has no doubt I will kick ass once I feel I am damn good and ready, and it’s about time to do just that!

Not Going Anywhere

Some of my blog posts are password-protected, and that seems to be causing a little confusion.  No, I am not removing my blog, or making the entire blog password-protected.  I don’t see a point to that.

No one is forced at gun point to come here and read what I write.  The fact that some people (like Psycho) are compelled to gobble up my every word is out of my control.  The fact that some people (like Psycho) get pissy about the truth being written anywhere, by anyone, is not my concern, either.  And her raging girl crush on me is entirely her business, not mine.

Most of my blog is wide open and will remain that way.  Password-protected posts have been, and will, be rare.  If you don’t already have the password, check out the Want the Password? tab to request it.

Sometimes I get crazy busy, because I am a loving wife, active stepmom, overloaded full-time employee, avid reader, proud homeowner, fervent gardener, and oh yeah, gotta fit in food logging and workouts there somewhere, too!  I don’t post every day, but I try to check in as often as I can with my fellow bloggers. And I will definitely keep doing so.
