So many people ignore that last part: your behavior decides who stays. When my husband and I first met, we could have easily fallen into the trap of making each other pay the price for the shortcomings and failures of our previous relationships. Instead, both of us knew, even as we were first getting to know each other, that we had found something special. We wanted to see where it could go. So, despite our apprehension, we held on, moved forward, and took good care of each other. Maybe we didn’t actually have a choice, though, because our hearts had already decided for us.
