The alarm blared so early this morning that it rudely yanked me out of a deep, comfy sleep, and for a moment, I was disoriented and confused about why I was getting up in the first place. Oh yeah, running at the gym, testing Peloton Digital’s treadmill workouts!
That was the plan, anyway. Oh, I went to the gym all right, and I ended up on a treadmill, just like I said I would. The uncooperative part was Peloton. I had bookmarked a few workouts last night so I could get right to it, but the damn video wouldn’t play. It would start, then freeze up, then buffer for a while. So instead of sweating it out with a digital fellow runner, I was gritting my teeth and shaking my fist at this:

I was able to play videos from YouTube just fine, so there was no wifi connection issue. It was my first time attempting to use Peloton Digital, so I don’t know yet if this was a fluke or if it is typical of the site’s performance.
A message sent to Peloton an hour and a half ago on Facebook has not been answered. I just wanted to know if there was a system error this morning or if more troubleshooting needs to happen. I went to Peloton’s website and submitted a support request by chat, which was responded to pretty quickly. They claim there was no technical issue with their digital services this morning. Hmmm.
I am not impressed so far. If I wasn’t able to play other videos from my phone, I would chalk it up to a bad Internet connection, but since YouTube played with no issues, then that can’t be it. I will try it again the next time I am at the gym. Two months free doesn’t mean much when the videos won’t play!
